Welcome to the NBA Macro Minute! This is a short article focused on macro environments and trending players. The goal here is to identify easy spots to focus or remove from slates and make DFS a bit easier.

Macro NBA Defensive Stats
- CHI leads the slate in fantasy points per minute allowed at 1.10
- HOU is by far the least at .90
- MIA is allowing the most FGA and FG3A per minute, UTA is allowing the most points
Macro NBA Combo Stats
- Best game environment is CHI/IND at 1.05 FPPM/m combined
- HOU/PHO is a deadzone at .92
- MEM/LAC is interesting as the matchup is average but the teams are bad
Obviously a lot to like about the CHI/IND environment but NYK/UTA is tasty as well. I think ORL players will come in lower than deserved even with the highest pace matchup on the slate. Finally, with a slate this size I don’t think you have any reason to play the HOU/PHO environment, I would remove it from my pool.
Trending Players
- Lots of strong values on this slate!
- At a glance MIA players are just straight up underpriced
- Not very many IND players which is notable considering the matchup
As always there is more research necessary on a bunch of these guys, but I feel comfortable saying that the MIA trio towards the top are strong plays. In the same thought, Desmond Bane for ORL has been playing really well and shown a strong adjusted ceiling of 50+ for just $7,500.
