Welcome to the NBA Macro Minute! This is a short article focused on macro environments and trending players. The goal here is to identify easy spots to focus or remove from slates and make DFS a bit easier.
If you have any questions or comments reach out to me in the discord or over on X for some more discussion
Macro NBA Defensive Stats

- Washington is giving up 1.14 fantasy points per minute over the last 10 games, highest on the slate
- OKC is giving up .89, the lowest on the slate
- SAC and WAS are giving up the most points per minute at .53 each
Attacking WAS is always going to be popular, but MIA and SAC are both strong targets. You should basically avoid players against HOU and OKC outside of extreme values.
Macro NBA Combo Stats

- The best game environment is MIN/WAS with a combined FPPM of 1.06
- CLE/HOU is the worst at .95, though heavily influenced by HOU defensive metrics
- MIA/GSW is the most interesting IMO, GSW has been bad but MIA is a supercharger
There are three clear spots to focus: MIN/WAS, POR/CHI, and MIA/GSW. I think MIN/WAS is going to get outlier ownership (deserved) but POR/CHI has upside written all over it.
Trending Players

- Craig Porter Jr. is the best adjusted ceiling value for his price
- Large disconnect between projection and adjusted medians for Diabate
- Naz Reid is going to be mega chalk tonight, through it’s justified
I’ll dig into these guys more later (discord szn) but off the bat I am interested in Diabate and Reid as a C-C pairing. If you want to research these dudes yourself, go over to the gamelogs tool and look into their rotations and performances!
Thanks for reading, go grab some trophies.
