Welcome to the MLB Macro Minute! This is a short article focused on macro environments and trending teams. The goal here is to identify easy spots to focus or remove from slates and make DFS a bit easier.

Macro Pitcher Stats
- Walbert Urena and Zach Wheeler lead the slate in True AVG. Not sure what a Walbert is but it doesn’t take much to fade the Mets anyways.
- Somehow Jose Quintana still has a job in MLB and faces the Braves tonight. Aside from him, Marquez, and Scott are also pitchers worth attacking. If Woo gets any semblance of ownership Royals are a great leverage play.
- Warren, Burrows, Eury Perez, and Sheehan are all solid options to include in your pitcher pool tonight.
Macro Team Stats
- SEA sits atop the scoring percentages and are facing one of the highest projected owned pitchers. They seem like a smash GPP play.
- ATL is the “chalk” team tonight but take that with a grain of salt as there are 11 games. That said, it was mentioned above how awful Quintana is so you couldn’t ask for a better matchup.
- In regards to 8+ there’s really no wrong answer tonight as you can make a case for anyone projecting for 20% or more. That said BAL, TOR, LAD, and BOS round out the top 5 along with SEA.
Trending Teams
COL and KCR are both near the top of the trending tables and have positive trending matchups as well. NYY, BOS, NYM, and CLE have the best trending matchups. Notably, SFG and TBR are at the bottom of the trending tables as well as the scoring percentages so if you are looking to parse down your player pool they might miss the cut.

Portfolio Analysis Exposures
When you run 1,000 lineups into the portfolio manager and do some filtering, you end up with the above results. Some notes:
- ATL and TOR stacks are the most prevelant
- Will Warren is the clear priority at SP
- Interestingly, Ragans is the chalk pitcher that shows up and not Wheeler despite the latter having the better median projection. This is likely due to the $1k+ discount in price.
- If you need a punt options to jam in all the dudes, German Marquez is a viable option.
